  Notes: The Gill Family tree traces back to Ireland to the late 1500's. It was in the early 1700's when the Gill family migrated to the United States and made their home first in Greene County Ohio and then Pennsylvania. The majority of the Gill's migrated from there to such states as; Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Virgina and Kentucky. Eventually down the line small groups of families branched out to the west coast in such states as; Washington, Oregon, California. Today of course, they can be found living in every state. The Gill's from Illinois and the "others"-- from Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucy and Virginia did not seem to have much involvement with each other, except for the fact that they were aware of their family ties.
