  Dorothy G. Horton, 81, of Flora, IL died at 11:30 AM Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Good Samaritan RHC in Mt. Vernon, IL. She was born January 12, 1930 in Pittsboro, MS to Joseph & Birdie (Poyner) Mason. She married Bailey "Pete" Horton on July 16, 1946 in Bruce, MS. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2001. She was a homemaker, previously worked at Hella in Flora, and was of the Christian faith. Dorothy enjoyed Cardinal Baseball, Cowboy Football, and loved cooking for her family. She is survived by two daughters: Carolyn (Lester) Beck and Deborah (Bud) Doud; son: Michael Horton; sister: Jean (Adrian) Steele; three grandchildren: Jennifer Derrer, Brian (Michelle) Beck, Dottie (Dale) Spillman; five great-grandchildren: Anthony, Ashley, Alex, Bayli and Emma. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3threebrothers, and four sisters. Funeral services were held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Memorials may be made to that of the donor's choice.
