Completed boot camp at the Naval Construction Training Center, Naval Operating Base, Norfolk, Virginia; Advanced 'Seabee' Training at Camp Perry, Williamsburg, Virginia; and then served with the following Naval Construction Battalions: 67th, 68th, and 19th. Honorably discharged as a Carpenter's Mate First Class on November 21, 1945 at the Naval Personnel Separation Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. Earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.
