  Oscar Raymond Carter, 79, passed away in his home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was the son of Daniel and Julie (Purcell) Carter. He married Jessie Pearl Taylor and she preceded him in death on May 15, 1978. He retired from Texaco after 43 years. He was a member of the Hi-Way Church of God. He was survived by three sons, Cloyd, Earnst and Billy; a daughter, Erma Dale Barrett; a brother, Roy E. Carter; a sister, Mary Smith; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Oscar Raymond Carter were held on September 25, 1978 in the Hi-Way Church of God followed by interment in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
