Notes - Mrs. Matilda Thomas Schott
Following three weeks' illness Mrs. Matilda Ann Thomas Schott passed away at 6:10 o'clock this morning at the home of her son, Horace Schott, 918 North Chicago street. Mrs. Schott, a native of Vermont, was 91 years old.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Erwin funeral parlors at 2:30 o'clock. Dr. A. Brabson Morrow, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will conduct. Friends may call at the Erwin parlors tomorrow.
The funeral party will leave here Saturday morning for Clay City, where burial will take place in the Odd Fellows' cemetery. Brief services will be held in Clay City at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Schott is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lettie Hadley, Lawrenceville; Mrs. Nora Hadley, Mt. Erie; two sons, Horace Schott, Pontiac; and Harold Schott, and 18 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, October 24, 1856; her mother, February 21, 1894; two sisters and one brother, her husband and a son, Frank Schott.
Mrs. Schott was born October 15, 1842, at Wetherfield, Vt. Her parents were Anson and Mary Thomas. When she was 11 years of age the family moved to Plainfield, Ill., where the deceased was educated.
She was married in Plainfield on November 15, 1865 to Samuel Schott. Their home was in Clay City and in Livingston county. Mrs. Schott had lived in this city for ten years.
