Notes - Anthony Doherty, aged 62 years, died in Macon county hospital Wednesday morning at 4:45 o'clock, never regaining consciousness after being stricken with apoplexy in the office of Owen Scott Monday noon.
The body was taken to Clay City Wednesday afternoon by his children who were with him when the end came. Funeral services will be conducted in Clay City Friday afternoon.
In southern Illinois where he had been engaged for many years, Anthony Doherty was widely known as a traveling drug salesman. Thoughout the state he was know as a master Mason and as serving as junior grand warden of the Masonic grand lodge of Illinois at the time of his death.
He was born in Bayou Sara, La, Aug 11, 1858, and when he was 14 years of age, his parents moved to Clay City, Ill. where he had since made his home.
He is survived by his wife and six children.
