    • Mary Witherington Sharrett, 88, went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Mrs. Sharrett was born in Duplin County, NC, and was the daughter of Cicero E. and Vera Mae Witherington. She was the beloved wife of the late Lowell D. Sharrett.

      Mrs. Sharrett spent many of her adult years as a devoted military wife, even serving as a civilian aircraft mechanic during WWII. After her husband's 40+ years of military and government service, the couple retired to Dudley, NC where they lived many years among family and friends.
      Mrs. Sharrett was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing and needle crafts.

      She is survived by her daughter Marilyn, son, James; 4 sisters, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

      The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
