Reassigned to and served with the 3rd Special Construction Battalion and then the Advance Base Receiving Barracks, Advance Base Depot, Port Hueneme, California. Honorably discharged as a Fireman First Class on June 26, 1945 at the Naval Personnel Redistribution Center, Navy Pier, Chicago, Illinois. Earned the American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
