Trained as an Anti-Aircraft Artillery Crewman and departed the Continental U.S. on November 2, 1943 bound for the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. Served with Battery Z, 497th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. Earned The American Campaign Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, The Philippine Liberation Medal, The WWII Victory Medal and The Good Conduct Medal. Honorably discharged from the service at Fort Custer, Michigan on January 22, 1946.
