Dessie Myers Anderson, 89, of 911 S. Fisher Street, Knox, Ind., passed away after an illness at 7:50 p.m. on Monday, May 25, at Starke Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1908, in Olney, Ill., and moved to the Knox area around 1927.
She married Ora Myers on June 14, 1927, in Knox, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1953. Then on July 28, 1962, in Knox, she married Clarence Andy Anderson, who preceded her in death on July 4, 1963.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Bennett, Dorothy Johnson and Doris Miejoday; and by three brothers, Sylvester, Jim and William Leonard.
She is survived by two sons, Donald "Bud" Myers and his wife, Ruby of Bourbonnais, Ill.; a son, Russell of Tucson, Ariz.; three stepsons, Francis "Bing" Anderson and Dewey Anderson, both of Knox and Bill of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; five grandchildren, Donald Myers of Mokena, Ill., Larry Myers of Herscher, Ill., Kathy Berndt and Dianne Binkley, both of Knox and Linda Kaylor of Tucson; four sisters, Violet Hasnerl and Maxine Bionkowski, both of Knox, Pansy Nuff and Betty Galloway, both of LaPorte, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Eagle Creek Church with burial to follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Braman and Son Memorial Chapel in Knox from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to the church.
