- Gerald "Butch" Petty, 60, of Ocala, Fla., died at 5 p.m. Monday, June2, 2003, at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala, Fla. Services will be held Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home in Ocala, Fla. His remains will be returned to Olney for his final resting place with his parents and one sister.
Mr. Petty was born on March 3, 1943, in Olney, the son of Harl and Alta May Petty. He moved to New York before settling down in Ocala in 1995. He was a retired automotive mechanic and was employed at Silver Springs Park until his death.
Mr. Petty is survived by a loving companion of 19 years, Geraldine Hursell; a son, Gary Petty, of New York; three daughters, Jennifer Lubjli, of Orlando, Fla., Tracey Larque and stacy O'Toole, both of New York; two brothers, William "Bill" Petty and his wife, Neva, of Noble, and Clint Petty and his wife, Donna, of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Sue Lenear and her husband, Virgil, of Olney; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
