- His father was Dr. Elijah Warren Boyles. His mother, Cornelia Canby, was Dr. Boyles second wife.
His half-brothers from his father's first marriage to Mary Ann Mahin were Herbert, James, and Horace. Vivian Warren is buried in this cemetery with his half-brother Horace in the Boyles Family plot in the Masonic Section.
Vivian Warren Boyles half-brother Richard S C Reaugh was born to his mother, Cornelia, during her first marriage to Upton Reaugh.
His direct siblings from Elijah and Cornelia were Gertrude and John. Vivian's youngest brother died while still an infant.
V Warren, as he liked to be called, graduated from Clay City high school in Illinois in 1899. He then graduated from Barnes Community College in St. Louis, Missouri in 1900.
In 1901 he came to Omaha to be an instructor in Boyles Business College which had been started by his half-brother Horace. By the Census of 1910 V Warren had a wife named Mabel who was from Nebraska. I haven't found her maiden name and it doesn't appear that the two had any children.
By May of 1914 V Warren became the third husband of Lulu Hadley. She brought her daughter Dorothy Taylor to the marriage and in some Census information V Warren is listed as her father. He was not her biological father. Dorothy's father was Bayard Laverne Taylor who had died in 1905 of tuberculosis. I haven't found anything that indicates V Warren officially adopted Dorothy but she and her husband, Jack Thornton Morris, are buried in the Boyles Family plot.
V Warren was a successful business leader in Omaha. He served as president of Boyles Business College after his brother died. He was the director of the Traveler's Health Association. He was the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce in Omaha. He was the president of the Rotary Club. V Warren was a documented member of the Sons Of The American Revolution through his mother's family. He was a president of the Unitarian Church. V Warren was a member of the Freemasons Lodge # 1 in Omaha and he styled himself a Republican.
He was also a reader, writer, and loved fishing.
