• Notes

  Rex Craig, 65, of Newman died at 7:24 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 18, 1989) at Douglas Jarman Hospital, Tuscola. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Joines Funeral Home, Newman, the Rev. Tim Staker officiating. Burial will be in Newman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Craig was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Monroe County, Kentucky, a son of Witt and Rosie Payne Craig. He married Wilma Wilcoxon in 1946 at Newman. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Ed Craig of Clay City and Gary Craig of St. Joseph; five grandchildren; a brother, Paul Craig of Urbana; and four sisters, Hazel Demerius, Alene Bennett and Inez Goddard, all of Champaign, and Judy Bell of Eugene, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Mr. Craig was a World War II veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Villa Grove.
