  Nancy E. Payne, daughter of G. W. and Susan Payne, was born in Pixley Twp. Clay County, IL, August 10, 1864. She died June 21, 1915, aged 50 years, 10 months, and 11 days. She was married to Morris Hardy August 21, 1892 and became a devoted mother to his son and daughter. They had two boys and one daughter. She leaves her husband, three children, two step children, father, five brothers and one sister. Burial was in Flora Cemetery, Flora, IL. (This was reported June 24, 1915 in The Southern Illinois Record.) Word reached Flora Monday that Mrs. Maurice Hardy, of Stanford township died Monday after a lingering illness. Mrs. Hardy had been a resident of Stanford township for a number of years and was highly respected by all who knew her. She leaves a husband, three children and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
