- Elias Stanford, age 72 years, prominent farmer and life long resident of Stanford township, died at the Olney Sanitarium Saturday morning after an illness of several weeks.
The body was brought to the Branson Funeral Home where it remained until Monday afternoon when it was taken to the family home on Route 45 south of Flora.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at Harmony church with Rev. Clyde Leslie officiating, burial will be at the nearby Kneff cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Stanford, two sons Delbert in the Seabees, and Meryle at home, one daughter Mrs. Opal Brissenden and one granddaughter, Carolyn Brissenden of Maryland, two brothers Andrew of Tonica and Eugene of Stanford township, and one sister, Mrs. Mae Ehler, also of Stanford township.
Mr. Stanford who had spend his entire life in the south Stanford neighborhood was one of the most industrious farmers and stock raisers of that community and always one to work for the betterment of his community and township.
