  Floy J. Herdes, 80, of Clay City, died Jan. 21, 1991 at her residence. She was born March 25, 1910 in Ingraham, the daughter of Cyrus and Sally Bryant Stanley. She married Denby Herdes on April 5, 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Herdes was a homemaker. She was a member of the Clay City Methodist Church, Clay City Garden Club and Sailor Springs Home Extension. Survivors include two sons, Darold and Garold Herdes; four brothers, Fletcher, Jay, Nelson, and Delton Stanley; one sister, Mary Wilson; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, and five brothers. Services were at Hosselton, Bookhout, and Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery, rural Clay City (Sailor Springs).
