  Gladys was born Dec. 9, 1899, in Flora, IL to David & Drucilla Brian Jenkins. She married Hugh Bateman Sept. 1, 1915, in Sailor Springs, IL. He preceded her in death September, 1981. She is survived by a son, Hugh Arkell Bateman; seven daughters, Loma Yates, Imo Lee McCraw, Lucille Steele, Jean Porter, Mary Wehrheim, Norma Burgess, and Codell Bateman; two sisters, Grace Kirkwood and Lavern Frank; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren/ and several great great grandchildren. One brother, one sister, three grandchildren, her husband and her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services were in the Church of the Nazarene, Olney, with burial in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs, IL.
