  GRASS VALLEY, Calif. -- Kathern (Putt) Crackel (88), former resident of Charleston, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 in Grass Valley, California. Kathern married her beloved husband of 69 years, Harold (Toad) Crackel, who survives. Kathern worked as Secretary/Treasurer for the Clay City School District until her retirement. She and her husband enjoyed camping and traveling. Kathern was predeceased by her daughter, Norma Carder. She is survived by one daughter, Victoria Deam, and two granddaughters, Rachelle Carder Ferguson & Shannon Burrow-Ward. Kathern had three great grandchildren, Kaden Ferguson, Carder Ferguson and Dylan Burrow. Memorial gifts may be made to the Village Christian Church, P.O. Box 766, Minooka, Illinois 60447.
