  Robert L. McDowell, 73, of Bridgeport, formerly of Olney, died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. There will be no visitation. Graveside services with full military rites will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hanna Cemetery in rural Noble with Reverend Carroll Shouse officiating. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements. Mr. McDowell was born on April 8, 1927, in Noble, the son of Delbert and Stella (Daily) McDowell. He was a retired iron worker. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and life member of DAV and VFW and a member of Eagles and American Legion. Mr. McDowell is survived by two daughters, Cathryn Sue Allen, of Davenport, Florida, and Debra McCleave and her husband, George, of Olney; a son, Michael McDowell and his wife, Valarie, of Orlando, Florida; a sister, Virginia Kissen, of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Todd and Ross Allen and Mikie, and Chris and Cody McDowell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Frank, Darrell and Charles.
