Earned Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Battle Stars and WWII Victory Medal.   John O. Bangert, age 54, of Olney, Rt. 2, passed away unexpectedly last evening. Mr. Bangert was on a business trip to Carlyle with Judge Raymond Horn when he was stricken with an apparent heart seizure. He was taken to Breeze hospital and was being transferred to Richland Memorial Hospital when his death occurred near Salem. A native of Clay County, Mr. Bangert was the son of Oliver Bangert and Elizabeth Montgomery Bangert. He was a Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Bangert was the owner and operator of the Bangert Casing Pulling fCompany or the past 18 years in Clay City. He was an extremely active person in all phases of community life. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge and several Masonic bodies and the Ainad Shrine. His friendly and courteous manners gained him a wide acquaintance of friends and business associates.
