- Noah Levitt was the son of Ignatious ("Nathan") Levitt (born 5-13-1774 near Daily, West Virginia; died 1844 or 1845 in Posey County, Indiana) and Elizabeth Carpenter Levitt (born about 1776 in Virginia; died 1813 in Posey County, Indiana). Nathan and Elizabeth were married 3-21-1796 in Clark, now Montgomery County, Kentucky and moved to Posey, Indiana (before it was a state) in about 1805.
They were the parents of William James Levitt.
