- PHYLLIS CALDWELL HALE, 80, of Clay City, Illinois passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her home.
Phyllis was born June 28, 1936 at Sperry, Oklahoma to Henry (Hank) I. and Verbie (Prock) Caldwell. She married Gilbert Dean Hale September 3, 1965 at Cisne Christian Church.
Phyllis moved to Cisne, Illinois with her family in 1945. She graduated from Cisne High School with class of 1955. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at the Cisne Grade School for several years. She was a member of the Clay County Home Extension serving as President for many years; a lifetime member of Royal Neighbors of America, and a member of the Cisne Christian Church. She served on the Stanford Township Election Board for many years.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Gilbert Dean Hale of Clay City, Illinois; one son Joey (Kristin) Hale of Dupo, Illinois and two grandchildren Nicole and Jesse. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters Lois Barnfield and Carolyn Barrett; and one brother Carl Caldwell; great niece Kensey Pond and great-great nephew Kash Barnfield.
Funeral services will be 11AM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cisne Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm 8pm Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Clay County Animal Rescue and Shelter or the donor's choice.
