Catherine Anthis died October 23, 1939, daughter of Elizabeth Slover and Sandy Tucker
Obituray: October 26, 1939 Mrs. Kate Anthis, 72, passed away early Monday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Otto Huchel, near Berryville, in Bonpas township.
Besides her sister, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Iva Harness, of Bonpas township, and Mrs. Pearl Morgan, of Claremont.
Funeral services were held at the Berryville church with interment at the Old Shiloh cemetery, north of Berryville.

Catharine Sophie Anthis, born June 2. 1867 near Berryville, Ill. She was a daughter of S. H. and I. E. Tucker. She was married October 27, 1886 to John J. Anthis, to this union four children were born, Charles, Allen, Pearl, and Iva. Her sons and her husband have preceded her in death.
She departed this life on October 23, 1939, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Iva Harness at the age of 72 years 4 months, 21 days.
Her entire life was spent near Berryville.
She was converted in early life in the Christian Church and in later years was reconverted at Otterbein. Her life was one of hardship and sacrifices. She was an affectionate wife, loving mother, a loyal neighbor and a true friend.
In her going away she leaves to mourn in sorrow her two daughters, Pearl Morgan of Fairmount, Ill. and Mrs. Iva Harness of Olney.; also 10 grandchildren, five brothers, two sisters, John Tucker of Vincennes, Ind., Kilbert Tucker of Parkersburg, Ill., James Tucker of Bridgeport, Ill., Charles Tucker of Bridgeport, Ill., Jessie Tucker of Calhoun, Ill., Mary Huckel, Calhoun, Ill., Helen Ryan of Vincennes, Ind., beside a host of other relatives and friends.
