Death came to Ray Kittle, 64, Monday, March 23, 1970, at the Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital following a sudden illness. Born in 1905 in Wayne county, Illiniois, the son of James and Tina Kittle, he was married to Martha Spack in 1927 who preceded him in death in 1952. In 1954 he married Jessie Norconk. In earlier years, Mr. Kittle had been employed at the old Hudson Motor Co. in Detroit and later at the Kalkaska Wayne Wire Cloth Co. Illness forced his retirement in 1963. Survivors include his widow, Jessie, two daughters, Mrs. Gayle (Marion) Defoe of Pontiac, Miss Pauline Kittle of Traverse City; a son Orin Kittle of Hope, his father James of Dundas, Illinois, two step children, Ronald Norconk of Grand Rapids amd Mrs. Wayne (Donna) Saxton of Traverse City; three sisters, Mrs. Winifred Smith and Mrs. Samuel Gentile of St. Louis, Missouri and Mrs. Delbert Callahan of Chesteron, Indiana; three brothers, Frank Kittle of Imlay City, Vern of Dundas, Illinois, and Charles of Detroit and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 25, 1970 at 2 p.m. at the Fife Lake Methodist Church with the Rev. Gerald Hedlund officiating. Burial was made in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska county.
