- William got a Military Warrant 1 Dec 1851 in Wayne Co., IL #4468 issued at Vandalia, IL for 40 Acres in SE Qtr of Sec. 21, Twp. 2N, R8E because of his service from the Black Hawk War. He was in 9 Jun to 3 Jul 1832. They went from Indianapolis to S. Bend and back. He was a Private in Capt. John Wishard's 57th Reg from Johnson Co. who met up with the 40th Reg under Col Russell. He served with his brother-in-law, James Ware and his brother, David Perry.
