      She was born Aug. 5, 1899, in Pixley Township, Clay County to William F. and Clara Murbarger West. She married Harry Smith in 1921. He died in 1956.

      Mrs. Smith was a member of the Clay City United Methodist Church and Queen Esther Class, and the Clay City Garden Club Unit 3.

      Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Charles (Edna) Wolfley, Clay City; a niece, Mrs. Leon (Dorothy) Eastin, Clay City; and a nephew, Bill West, Flora.

      Services will be announced by the Cardascio Funeral Home, Clay City.
