Samuel Colclasure (1831 - 1905) born near Xenia, his wife Sarah Elizabeth (Baity) Colclasure (1840 - 1928) also born near Xenia. Samuel enlisted for combat duty in the Civil war on August 9, 1862 at the age of 28. He was mustered in at Camp Marshall, Salem, Ill. on Aug 16, 1862. He served under Ge. Sherman and was attached to the 111 Illinois Infantry. He was on the famous march from Atlanta to the sea. On May 21, 1865 marched in the Grand Review Victory Parade in Washington D.C. He arrived back to his home at Xenia July 1, 1865.
