- Charles Robert 'Bob' Hazel Sr., age 82 of Mt. Erie, passed away at 4:09 AM on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his residence.
Burial will be at Forrest Ridge Cemetery in rural Richland/Wayne County. Pastor Tim Bursott will be officiating.
Bob was born in Chicago on August 24th, 1938 to Roy and Maxine Hazel. If your favorite form of communication was the CB then you might have known Bob by his CB handle Robinhood, for he was famous for being able to Robinhood an arrow at even given time.
Bob entered eternal life from his home in Mount Erie, Illinois on Saturday December, 26th 2020. His spirit is carried on by his three children, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Bob spent the early years of his life in Northern Illinois where he worked for Caterpillar in Aurora for several years and then McDonald Douglas, building and wiring jet planes, before coming back to the Northern Wayne County and Wynoose area to help his parents on their family farm. He was also the owner and operator of Covey Ridge Hunting Preserve in Mount Erie Illinois.
Bob is survived by three of his children, Kim Bullard of Mount Erie, Robby Hazel of Noble, Rodney Hazel and his wife Sara of Albion. Seven grandchildren and their spouses, Lindsay Hancock and husband Curt of Wynoose , Emily Jones and husband Chris of Fairfield, Tanner Hazel of Fairfield, Shae Barrett and husband Ryan of Fairfield, Brooklyn Hazel of Albion, Levi Hazel of Noble, and Alex Bullard of Mount Erie. Five great grandchildren, Kalli, Charli, and Chandler Hancock of Wynoose and Cora and Parker Jones of Fairfield.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Maxine Hazel and his daughter Lisa Hazel.
Memorials can be sent to Forrest Ridge Church in memory of Bob Hazel.
