  Catherine Volk, 83, Wendelin, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday in the Olney Care Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Holy Cross Church in Wendelin, with Rev. Fr. Bernard Goedde presiding. Visitation is from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the Summers Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Volk was born in Clay County April 13, 1897 to Joseph and Mary (Kuhl) Kuenstler. She married Anton (Tony) C. Volk in Wendelin April 12, 1921. He survives. She was a lifelong member of the Wendelin Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Holy Cross Alter Society. Survivors include three sons, Anton J., Washington, Louis G., Claremont, and Don L., Ingraham; three daughters, Sister Mary Antionette, St. Augustine parish in Chicago, Sister Loretta, Hecker Parish, and Ethel Zwilling, Claremont; three brothers, Frank Kuenstler, Olney, and Henry and Lawrence Kuenstler, both of Wendelin; a sister, Monica Buerster, Wendelin; 31 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Virgil, killed in the Korean War; two brothers, Joseph and Ralph; four sisters, Cecilia Buerster, Carrie Tillman, Mary Volk, and Helen Kessler; and a grandchild.
