- Luzia Michaela Garbaa-Crouse, 68, of Olney, formerly of Stuttgart, Germany, died on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.
Luzia was born on February 16, 1954 in Stuttgart, Germany to Willi Wilhelm and Martina (Steiger) Klein. She married Jeffrey Crouse on November 12, 1990 in Stuttgart, Germany, and he survives.
Luzia was born in Germany after WWII. She attended private Catholic school at St. Agnes where she made friendships that lasted a lifetime, which was a general pattern throughout her life.
After graduation, Luzia attended the University of Tuebingen and studied law. She was employed by the German State Police as a Human Resources Supervisor. After retirement, Jeff and Luzia moved to Olney, IL in 2015.
Luzia was a member of St. Marias Catholic Church in Stuttgart, Germany.
Luzia is survived by her husband, Jeff Crouse of Olney; son, Kieredin (Katharina) Garbaa of Angus, Ontario Canada; grandchild, Melissa Garbaa; sister, Hildergard Blief; brother, Georg Klein; sister, Gabriele Klein; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Imogen Blief.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will follow the service at Hanna Cemetery in Noble.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
