    • Entered active service as a draftee on April 4, 1946 at Chicago, Illinois. Selected for the Infantry, completed basic training, and qualified in the Military Occupational Specialty of General Clerk (055). Departed the Continental U.S. on August 6, 1946 bound for The Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. Served with the Manila Leave Center, Luzon, Philippine Islands. Honorably discharged as a Private First Class on April 23, 1947 at The Separation Center, Fort Lawton, Washington, per demobilization plan. Earned the WWII Victory Medal.
