    • Entered active service as a draftee on January 26, 1944 at Chicago, Illinois. Selected for The Coast Artillery Corps, completed basic training, and qualified in the Military Occupational Specialty of Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Crewman (601). Departed the U.S. on July 9, 1944 bound for The Pacific Theater of Operations. Assigned to and served with Battery B, 867th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. Earned The Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and The WWII Victory Medal. Honorably discharged as a Private First Class on February 21, 1946 at The Separation Center, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.
