Assigned to 18th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force and served in The Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations from November 6, 1942 to October 23, 1944. Fought in action against the enemy in the Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan and Tinian Campaigns. Earned The Bronze Star Medal, The Presidential Unit Citation with one bronze star, The American Campaign Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars and The WWII Victory Medal.
