  • Notes
    • Sherlyn loved her family and was happiest when her children and grandchildren were all together to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Her true love language was hospitality. She loved cooking and feeding people. If you were in her home you were offered something to eat or drink. It didn't matter if you were a friend, family member or a delivery driver she made sure no one left her house hungry.

She was an avid crocheter who made special baby blankets for each of her grandchildren and many others outside of the family. These items will be cherished even more deeply now. During her many hospital stays she could be found sitting with her needles and yarn. Even when plagued by physical limitations and pain she still wanted her yarn 'just in case' she felt up to a few stitches.

Christmas will be bittersweet this year, not only because she isn't here but also because it was her favorite holiday. She loved and cherished her decorations and referred to them as her prize possessions, second only to her love for Jesus and family. If you were blessed to be in her home during the holiday season you know there wasn't a corner that wasn't decorated. During her last days she expressed more than once to her family that she did not want Christmas 'skipped'. We were to continue to gather together and celebrate the birth of the Savior. Telling her husband and children to 'find the joy'.

Grief is a painful process and tears flow freely right now, but sharing memories of the little things that were unique to her has been a soothing balm. We are comforted knowing she is no longer in pain and is watching over as we begin the journey together to finding the joy once again.
