On Veterans' Day, 2005, the city of Flora, Illinois dedicated a memorial to all known Clay County, Illinois World War II Veterans.
Located on the south side of the city library, this is a copy of the brochure honoring that event.

Notes - Charles N. "Ike" Sessions, age 96, of Flora, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2014 at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.
Ike was born May 22, 1918 in Wayne County to James E. and Isabell (Stoops) Sessions. He married Coleen Deain on December 24, 1946 in Xenia. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2013. Ike served in the U.S. Army for 5 years and during WWII was an anti-aircraft machine gunner. During his life he worked in oil fields, helped build power plants, and did highway construction. Ike was a member of McCabe Baptist Church and American Legion Post and enjoyed fishing, camping, and taking care of a garden every year.
He is survived by his son: Jay (Karen) Sessions of Cisne; grandson: Cory (Kristina) Sessions of Geff; great-granddaughter: Jasmine Sessions of Geff; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson (Chris Sessions), and 7 siblings (Kenneth Sessions, Mildred Galbraith, Imogene Harrell, Virgil "Bud" Sessions, Velma Williams, Opal Markham, and Bertie Taylor).
The funeral service for Charles "Ike" Sessions will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, with military honors. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Flora Gardens Activity Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
