- Eli, son of Sullivan and Sarah Hubble was born September 26th. 1858; passed peacefully away at his home in Cisne, Wednesday morning, January 16, 1929, aged seventy years, three months and twenty-one days.
He was united in marriage with Sarah Ann Brummett in August 1882. Nine children were born to this union, two having died in infancy, Louis T., passed away January, 1912, Robert J., in February 1919 and Sallie, wife of Fred Duke in September, 1926. His companion preceded him in death in December, 1919.
He was united in marriage with Mrs. Goldie Murphy in May, 1922.
At the age of twenty years he was converted and united with the Zif Baptist Church of which he was a loyal member for more than fifty years.
He was a good citizen, a kind husband, an affectionate father and a kind friend and neighbor.
He is survived by his companion, three sons, Sullie, Sherman and Scott, one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Gill, three step-children, Mrs. Ethel Martin, Elsworth and Francis Murphy, a number of grand children, two brothers, John and W. S. Hubble and many other relatives and friends who will mourn his death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Zif Baptist Church, Friday morning at eleven o'clock, by Elder W. D. Crippin. Interment in the family lot in Zif cemetery.
