  Wayne County Press Merle Pond, Infant, dies Merle Duane, infant son of Duane and Metabelle Pond, was born Oct. 10th, 1946, and passed away a few minutes later. He is survived by his parents and one little sister, Anita; his grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Fred Pond and Mr. And Mrs. Sam Hilliard; three great-grandparents, and a host of other relatives. A loving one from us has gone, Our little Doll is stilled; A place is vacant in our home That never can be filled. Funeral services were conducted from DeSelms Funeral Home Friday, Oct 11th at three p.m., by Rev. Mayo Ashbrook of Johnsonville, with interment in Cisne cemetery.
