    • Alex J. Kessler, 79, Rt. 1, Ingraham, diecl Friday at Newton Rest Haven.

      Services will be conducted Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Wendelin with Rev. Fr. Leo Rinehart officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at Summers Funeral Home. There will be a prayer service.

      A Clay County native, Kessler was born Nov. 5, 1904, the son of George and Ida Schulte Kessler. He was united in marriage April 19, 1932, with Lorene Dasch, who survives.

      Mr. Kessler was a farmer and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

      Other survivors include a son, Fred Kessler, Rt. 2, Noble; three daughters, Sue Dickerson, Newton, Maggie Elliott, Ingraham, and Claudia Tremaine, St. Charles; three sisters, Amelia Conour, Leona Huchel and Monica Long, all of Olney; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

      Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
