- MURELL L. WELCH
Murell L. Welch, 66, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mount Pleasant.
Services will be Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at the StinsonHelms Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mount Pleasant or to the American Heart Association.
An owner of an independent oil and gas production firm in Mount Pleasant, Welch moved to the area from Roscommon in 1954.
He was born April 9, 1915 in Oilton, Okla. to Marlin and Clara (Lobaugh) Welch and later married Vera Mullins.
He was a member of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association, the American Petroleum Institute and the Independent Petroleum Producers of America.
Surviving are his wife, Vera (Mullins) Welch of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Mrs. William (Marilyn) Malone of Mason, Mrs. John (Madelane) Gillis of Breckenridge, Mrs. Matthew (Janet) Darrow of Ypsilanti, and seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Leo (Edna) Hamil of Sperry, Okla., and Mrs. Hazel Jenkins of Oblong, III., and one brother, Gale, of Claremore, Okla.
