  Eva M. Converse, age 91, of Albion, passed away at 1:20 AM, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center, Carmi, IL. Eva was born September 16, 1917 to Austin and Lena (Young) Hord of Iola, IL. She married L.L. "Slim" Converse on June 6, 1940 in Union, Missouri. He preceded her in death January 7, 1993 Eva was an active member of the Little Prairie Christian Church of Albion. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Her great-grandson, Carter was her special joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one granddaughter, Carrie. Eva is survived by a daughter Jamie (Gerald) Dill of Albion, two grandsons: Jarrod Dill of Phoenix, AZ, and Shannon (Cheryl) Dill of Olney, IL., one great-grandson Carter Dill of Olney and one brother, Henry (Velma) Hord, of Mt. Carmel. Graveside services for Eva M. Converse will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2009 at West Village Cemetery. Friends may go directly to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Edwards County Senior Citizens.
