- Marian Eade, age 93, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Monday night, December 24, 2018, at Flora Gardens Care Center.
She was born on May 8, 1925 to Leonard E. and Edith (Fry) Frost. She attended Foster Grade School and graduated from Flora High School in 1942. She then attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. On July 3, 1945 she married Oren Earl Eade and they shared 67 years of marriage until his death February 4, 2013. They lived all their married life in rural Louisville.
To this union was born Janet Couch , Judy Pryor and David (Gena) Eade of Flora. They had 10 grandchildren, Austin, Ryan and Landon Eade, Jon, Jennifer and Jeremy Couch, Michael Pryor and Adrienne Gourley and Tyson and Taylor Wyman, and 21 great-grandchildren, Adriana and Bryleigh Eade, Addison, Rylan and Asher Eade, Jacob, Caleb, Marcus and Lauren Couch, Dylan and Bailee Couch, Tyler, Chase, and Bryce Langston, Landrey Eade, Ian and Harper Gourley, McKenzie and Greyson Wyman, Jaedyn Arthur and Aleigha Wyman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Harold (Elaine) Frost and two sons-in-law, S.C. Couch, and Harley Pryor.
Marian was a faithful member at North Harter Christian Church and was baptized at the age of 12. Through the years she served as Sunday School teacher, pianist, church treasurer, and prepared communion for several years. She enjoyed being outside mowing, gardening, and taking care of flowers. She enjoyed reading and loved to cook especially making crescent rolls for family and church functions. She was an avid seamstress, making clothing for herself and her family, and developed a love for making quilts having made many for her family. She had a kind, gentle, spirit and tried to think the best of everyone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all her family, as they were all very dear to her.
A funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Golden Cemetery, Louisville. A visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders and will be accepted through the funeral home.
