    • Donald R. Young, 74, of Louisville, IL died at 1:20 AM, Sunday, February 8, 2009 at his residence.

      Don was born on March 1, 1934 to Charlie & Sarah (Sehie) Young in Clay County, Illinois. He married Melba McCommons on October 15, 1953 in Flora, IL.

      Don worked as a cabinet maker at Valberts in Flora, then later moved to Oswego, IL with Valberts. Afterwards, he worked in the maintenance department of Kendall County in Yorkville, IL. He retired in 1994.

      After his retirement Don enjoyed woodworking, auctions, going to and participating in car shows, camping and cooking.

      Don was an Army Veteran and served the United States during the Korean War. He is also a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Flora.

      Don is survived by his wife: Melba Young; children: Teresa Wackerlin and Rex Young; seven grandchildren: Heather Smith, Kelly Canada, Brock Wackerlin, Drew Wackerlin, Jamie Wackerlin, Jason Young, Cassandra Young; five great grandchildren; a brother: Jerry Young; two nephews; and two great nephews.

      Don was preceded in death by his parents, a son Glenn Young, and a infant sister Betty Young.

      Funeral Services for Mr. Young was held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.

      Burial was in Kneff Cemetery with military honors.

      Memorials made to Harmony United Methodist Church and was received at the funeral home.
