- Cameron Wayne Beck, age 19, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Sunday morning, July 23, 2023.
He was born December 15, 2003, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Mark Wayne and Karen Sue (Long) Beck.
Cameron was a 2022 graduate of Clay City High School where he was actively involved in sports as a pitcher on the baseball team, a member of the basketball team, and played trumpet in the band. He worked at HELLA Electronics as an operator and forklift driver. Cameron loved fishing, and also enjoyed bowling and hanging out with his nieces, nephews, and friends. He attended Clay City First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents: Mark and Karen Beck of Clay City; siblings: Aaron (Abigail) Beck of Olney, Tyler Beck of Clay City, and Chelsea Beck of Clay City; grandfather: Robert Anderson of Clay City; aunt: Donna (Shane) Pottorff of Clay City; aunts and uncles: Paul Long, Connie Long, Charlie Long, Rena Long, and Lynn Dietrich, all of Michigan; nieces and nephews: Caroline, Onaleigh, Lucas, and Tailynn Beck; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Rose Anderson; maternal grandparents: Jerry and Gail Long; 5 great uncles and 1 great aunt of Illinois and many from West Virginia and Michigan.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Cameron Beck Benefit Fund and will be accepted through the funeral home or any branch of the Clay City Banking Company.
