    • Frieda Caroline Noll, 95 years young, departed this life for Heaven on April 8, 2017 at the home of her daughter Marilyn E. Doyle in Jeffersonton, VA

      Frieda was born on October 9, 1921 to William and Meta Mueller of Stewardson, IL. She spent several of her early adult years working in Chicago before returning to down-state Illinois to be closer to home and family. She married farmer Otto W. Noll and lived in the Strasburg area for 20 years before divorcing in 1966. Frieda moved to Mattoon, IL working as a housekeep for many families including three generations of the Link-Thiel family until her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mattoon, IL for almost 50 years and an officer of the Mattoon Senior Club.

      She is survived by her only child, Marilyn E. Doyle (Eric) of Jefferson, VA; grandsons, Jason E. Doyle (Peggy) of Chesterfield VA and Kirtlin W. Doyle of Annandale VA; great-grandchildren Amanda Cantrell (Robert) of Fredericksburg VA, Joshua, Kaitlyn, and Brandon Doyle of Chesterfield VA; great, great-grandson Caleb Cantrell of Fredericksburg VA; special friend and companion Mildred “Sissy” Ritchie of Culpeper VA; and sisters Ruby Steineman and Eileen Quicksaw of IL, and Geraldine Klingaman of MO. She was proceded in death by her parents and great-grandson Phillip Dean Embrey.

      Funeral services in her honor will begin at 1:30 pm, on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Living Hope Lutheran Church, 325 Courthouse Rd, Stafford, VA 22554 with Rev., Jonah P. Burakowski, officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the church starting at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Stafford Memorial Gardens, 154 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA 22554.
