  Obituary Catherine Ann (Deimel) McDowell, 64, of Olney, passed away January 21, 2023 at her residence. Catherine (Deimel) McDowell was born December 23, 1958 in Olney, IL to Charles and Patricia (Jones) Deimel. She married John McDowell on May 15, 1983 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney. Cathy's favorite pastimes were swimming in her backyard with her friends and family, chats about sports with her sons and nephews, and watching her sons and grandsons play sports. She also enjoyed volunteering in the community that she was born and raised in. She had a strong faith and was a proud member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Cathy was known as the biggest cheerleader of newly diagnosed cancer patients receiving treatment at Carle RMH. Most importantly, Cathy lived for her family and would put their concerns above her own. Her bright smile and love for her family will be missed. Cathy is survived by her husband, John McDowell of Olney; son, Darrell McDowell and wife Andrea of Olney; son, Charlie McDowell and wife Jordan of Olney; grandchildren, Maddex and Graham McDowell, and Ezekiel McDowell; brothers, Cliff (Nancy) Deimel, William (Cindy) Deimel, and John (Michelle) Deimel; sisters, Deb (Frank) Hatten, and Linda (Arron) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will take place following services at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
