  Ethel Allen, 93,of Flora, IL, formerly of Xenia, died May 5, 2005, at Flora Pavilion Nursing Center. Mrs. Allen was born December 20, 1911, in Clay County, the daughter of William and Maude McCulley Thompson. She married Alvin Leonard Allen Jan. 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death in April, 1981. She was a homemaker and member of Oak Mound Christian Church. Survivors include two sons, Darrell and Donald Allen; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at Neal Funeral Home with burial in Oskaloosa Cemetery. Memorials to Clay County Hospice.
