  William A. "Bill" Marks, 73, of Flora, IL formerly of Olney, IL died at 4:55 PM Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Flora Rehab & Health Care Center in Flora, IL. He was born July 5, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to Alva & Ruth (Curtis) Marks. He married Violet Snyder on June 19, 1957 in Olney, IL. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1997. He was a maintenance and machine operator for ICG Railroad and served 20 years as an Olney Volunteer Fireman. Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by 3 daughters: Vicki Marks of Olney, Julie Mines of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Susan Block & husband Randy of Flora; 2 sisters: LaVerne Harrison & husband Bob of Vandalia and Thelma Turner of Kansas City, MO; special friend: Charlene Schwager of Flora; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. In addition to their own family, Bill and Violet helped raise 153 foster children. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday (October 29, 2010) at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Dale Cemetery, Olney. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service on Friday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.
