      Burial will follow services at Lawrenceville City Cemetery.

      James Wilbur Blevins, age 96 of Bridgeport and formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family.

      He was born September 1, 1925 in Lawrenceville to John William Blevins and his wife Gertrude Marcella (Hudspeth) Blevins.
      On November 2, 1943 in Lawrenceville, Jim married Swan Campbell. In their 69 years of marriage, they raised a beautiful family and made many memories. Swan preceded him in death on October 4, 2013.

      As a young man, Jim served his country in World War II as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He then enrolled in the National Guard before he was enlisted the serve again as a member of the United States Army. Jim was very proud of his military service.
      Jim was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church in Lawrenceville. He attended there until he was unable to due to his health. For many years, he was supervisor for the Illinois Gas Company.

      He was preceded by: his beloved wife- Swan Blevins: two brothers- William Leroy Blevins and Edward Jean Blevins: one sister- Alice Marcella Blevins: one grandson- Shad Sharp: and one great-granddaughter- Tiffany Paige Fiscus.

      Burial next to his wife will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
