  Phyllis Briscoe, 77, of Flora, IL died at 2:48 PM Monday, October 11, 2010 at Clay County Hospital in Flora, IL. She was born August 21, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Herbert & Minnie (Workman) Greenwood. She married Phillip Rex Briscoe on November 9, 1952 in Flora. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2005. Phyllis was a past school secretary for the Flora Unit #35 School District and a member of First Christian Church of Flora and Clay County Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her three children: Mike Briscoe & wife Karen, Shannon Rutland & husband Ray, and Blake Briscoe & wife Suzi; seven grandchildren: Bart, Ashley & Kendra Briscoe / Amy Evans & husband Larry / Shad Rutland / Brax Briscoe / Clayton Irvin; four great-grandchildren: Autumn Evans / Alexis, Gage & Brianna Briscoe; a sister: Beverly Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother (Mildred), and husband. Funeral services were held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with Rob Clifton officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Memorials may be made to Clay County Cancer Support Group.
