- Mamie Jo Brown, age 85, of Cisne, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at Cisne Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Mamie Jo was born January 30, 1929, in Flora, the daughter of John Allen Davis and Lucille Fern (Compton) Davis.
Over the years, she had worked at Four Sisters Manufacturing and was known to many as the "biscuit lady" at Druther's. She loved babysitting and taking care of grandchildren, and enjoyed puzzles, watching sports, playing cards, gardening, slot machines, and fishing and hunting when she was young.
Mamie Jo is survived by her children: Carl (Shirley) Eskew, Ginger (Lloyd) Powell, Donna Hemphill, Bonnie (Cliff) Witt of Lockport, Lee Ann (Frank) Kennedy, Guy (Rhonda) Brown, Jackie (Ted) Richardson, and Virgil Brown; three brothers: George Davis, John (Ada) Davis, Gary (Darlene) Davis; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law: Vance; three brothers: Robert, Emory, and Richard; and three sisters: Rosemary, Doris, and Priscilla.
A funeral service for Mamie Jo Brown was held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
A private interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and will be accepted at the funeral home.
